The Parisian duet of Antoine Hilaire and Florent Lyonnet dubbed themselves Poney Poney for an EP produced by French house maestro, Para One, and this moniker was fitting to describe their brand of galloping rock. Now newly renamed Jamaica, the pair is pushing their rebellious music to new heights with help from Xavier de Rosnay of Justice, who will produce their upcoming album. Fusing the raging electricity of power-rock (the convulsive guitarist Antoine grew up with grunge) with the dynamics of electro-house, the outcome is at urgent, frenetic and energetic pop.
