The Dø, named after the first and last notes on the musical scale, are a Finnish girl and a French boy, who entered #1 in France with their debut album. Not surprisingly, the Paris-based duo comprised of Dan Levy (The D), and Olivia Merilahti (The O), are one of the most-talked about new bands in Europe. Their debut album, A Mouthful, described by the Guardian UK as “a veritable pop tour-de-force,” sparkles with a youthful exuberance as it quickly transitions from quirky hip-hop to PJ Harvey-like roughness, and acid folk to Cardigans-esque pop.
